THE WYLDE PROJECT... A STUDIO FOR ACTORS...
THEATRE SCHOOL: TORONTO ACTING CLASSES
Not all acting schools are created equal! In Toronto the Wylde Project is a working space where actors, old and new, may come together to practice and refresh their art in a relaxed atmosphere, among like-minded colleagues. It is a private theatre school in Toronto, giving acting classes for adults and courses in specific areas of the acting craft for both beginning actors and experienced professionals.
The Wylde Project is unique as the only theatre school in Canada founded upon and committed to propagating Peter Wylde’s signature acting exercise: the Zone of Silence.
OUR TORONTO ACTING CLASSES INCLUDE:
- The Zone of Silence -- the foundation
- Zone to Script -- the application
- Acting Two -- the continuation
- Word and Style – text analysis in the classics
- Words: the Excellent Adventure – a language course, not necessarily restricted to actors
- Acting Shakespeare – to be read in the original editions
- Meeting the Players – exploring director/actor relationships
- Creating a Vocal Masque – a solo acting exercise
- Setting the Scene -- text analysis, historical and cultural background for theatrical designers and technicians

It is Peter Wylde’s conviction that a classical training equips actors to handle any material or style. A training in contemporary naturalism alone severely narrows the actor’s range and capability.
The Wylde Project offers training primarily for the live stage. No camera work is involved. Private drama coaching is available upon request at the rate of $75.00 per hour.
The Wylde Project is not a public performance space; however, the studio is sometimes available as a rehearsal space by special arrangement.
The Wylde Project is a member of the Toronto Association of Acting Studios.
